Question 1

How does JOBO ensure torsional rigidity on such an ultra-low step-through frame?

Accepted Answer

Ultra-low step-through frames naturally face higher flexing stresses at the bottom bracket. We engineer this chassis using heavy-wall 6061-T6 aluminum tubes with hydroformed internal reinforcement ribs and welded dual-tube gussets along the lower sweep. All production frames undergo automated fatigue and vibration testing (horizontal dynamic loading and bottom bracket deflection tests) on our factory test benches before proceeding to surface finishing.

Question 2

What is the manufacturing process for the integrated rear rack, and how is payload verified?

Accepted Answer

The rear rack is not an aftermarket bolt-on piece; it is integrated directly into the rear triangle using dedicated welding fixtures (jigs) and multi-pass TIG/MIG welding. We verify weld penetration via destructive cross-section inspection during batch setup, followed by 100,000-cycle vertical dynamic vibration load tests at 65 kg to guarantee the rack never fractures or loosens under child seat or cargo loads.

Question 3

How do you maintain dimensional accuracy and alignment for the frame-fixed front rack?

Accepted Answer

Frame-mounted front carriers require precise perpendicular alignment to the headtube to prevent cargo tilt. We utilize precision clamping welding jigs dedicated to this specific front-triangle subassembly. Every batch is measured for headtube-to-deck horizontal and vertical alignment before entering the heat treatment oven (T4/T6), ensuring bolt holes and flat surfaces align seamlessly during assembly.

Question 4

What surface treatment and weatherproofing methods are used for the frame and wooden plates?

Accepted Answer

The alloy frame undergoes multi-stage chemical pretreatment followed by an automated electrostatic powder coating or liquid paint line, then cured in industrial baking ovens to withstand high-humidity outdoor use. The decorative front and rear wooden deck plates are treated with anti-UV, water-repellent exterior sealants to resist warping, cracking, and water rot in rainy European and North American climates.

Question 5

Can our brand specify our own Tier-1 electrical components and motor firmware settings?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our electrical engineering workshop routinely integrates motors (Bafang, Shengyi, AKM, or client-specified brands) and battery packs using brand-name cells (LG, Samsung, or EVE). We calibrate the motor controller’s torque/cadence algorithms in-house to ensure smooth start-assist curves—crucial for fully loaded family bikes—and program speed caps (e.g., 25 km/h for the EU or 20/28 mph for the US) into the firmware.

Question 6

How do you optimize export packaging to protect the integrated racks and minimize ocean freight costs?

Accepted Answer

Integrated cargo racks can significantly expand carton volume if not engineered properly. We design custom 7-layer double-wall export cartons with custom high-density molded EPE foam brackets that securely cradle the welded rear deck and front rack mount. Handlebars, front wheel, and pedals are packed semi-knocked-down (SKD), achieving maximum shipping density and container utilization while ensuring zero carton rubbing or rack deformation in transit.

Question 7

Can we produce pre-production engineering samples before confirming a full bulk order?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We build functional pre-production samples (golden samples) built to your exact BOM specifications, including frame paint color-matching, custom logo water decals, selected motor systems, and customized accessory mounts. Once the prototype is approved and test-ridden by your team, we freeze the BOM and lock in the tooling jigs for bulk manufacturing.

Question 8

What is JOBO’s production capacity and standard bulk manufacturing lead time?

Accepted Answer

With our automated welding lines and standardized assembly facilities, our monthly utility e-bike manufacturing capacity exceeds 5,000 units. For typical OEM orders, standard production lead time is 45 to 60 days following BOM sign-off and deposit, with express component scheduling available for recurring contract clients.

Question 9

How does JOBO’s Poland facility assist European brand partners?

Accepted Answer

Our Poland assembly plant allows European clients to ship frame kits and electrical components via CKD/SKD, handling final assembly, electrical testing, and local EU pallet dispatch directly from within the European Union. This operational model cuts local transit lead times down to days and significantly optimizes import and logistical overhead for your brand.

Question 10

What quality control checks are performed on each bike before shipment?

Accepted Answer

Our production line enforces an 8-station QC inspection protocol:
1.Raw material and tube weld ultrasonic flaw detection;
2.T4/T6 hardness and alignment testing;
3.Coating thickness and cross-hatch adhesion check;
4.100% battery internal resistance and BMS cutoff screening;
5.Brake caliper centering and hydraulic bleed pressure checks;
6.Drivetrain shifting indexing and spoke tension balancing;
7.Motor dynamometer pull and functional electrical runout;
8.Final unboxing drop simulation and packaging audit.
